August Update - The Sword of Mercy and Wrath releases in two weeks!
Some big news, and an important update about my other series
Welcome to the big leagues. I’ve been writing like crazy over the last months to try and get these books together for you, but now the day is finally approaching. My chair creaks under my ass now every time I sit in it, so that’s fun, and probably TMI. This book I’ve poured my heart and soul into for years is getting its day in the sun. I’m hearing great things from those with early copies:
I’m so excited for the day that you guys can finally get it in your hands or on your Kindles. Thank you to those that have already preordered, and a reminder that it’s currently $0.99 still until the release date.
Onto further exciting news: You all will have received an email with your link to the companion novella to TSOMAW, The Sword of Salt and Smoke. Exciting times. I have a little surprise for you as well:
I wonder what that could be…?
A reminder that if you didn’t get the link to the book or missed it (for my subscribers), you can find it in your emails (check the spam or promotions tab). For anyone who’s reading this from elsewhere (Substack or Twitter or whatever), sign up to my mailing list here: https://www.nikitaskoussis.com/mailing-list to get the novella!
I’m hard at work on the sequel to TSOMAW now, and that’s been outlined. This one far exceeds the last in scope, and I hope you’re all ready for the shit that’s going to go down in the next one. It’s gonna get crazy. It’s planned to be about twice the length of TSOMAW, at around 140k words (or about 500 pages). I’ve sent the outline to my alpha/beta readers and the feedback on that has been super encouraging.
As it stands, the release of this one will be late March/early April, but I’ll keep you guys updated—because, and most importantly, I’m having a son! As I write this, my wife is 40 weeks pregnant and we’re expecting our first child literally at any moment (boy this update is full of surprises, isn’t it!)
Now, about The War of the Ancestors:
I haven’t forgotten about this series. I’m genuinely over the moon to be able to tell you the story of Léto and Verína, but for now I’m concentrating on The Swords of Dominion series. I’m in this for the long haul. The Swords of Dominion is a five-book series, with at least two novellas, so I’m not going anywhere! Expect news about The War of the Ancestors series sometime next year.
It feels like my life has changed so dramatically over the last month, in a good way. If you’ve got some happy news to share, or even want to just drop me a line and have a chat, then please! Leave a comment on this post or send me an email. I’m excited to hear from you!
One last thing:
I’m running a Q+A session on my Twitch channel after TSOMAW releases, and I’d be super excited to answer any and all of your questions—about the book, about me, questions about writing, anything!
Finally, as always, I like to highlight an indie author every month:
John Palladino’s The Trials of Ashmount is an incredible first effort from a debut novelist, and it’s well and truly grimdark. It’s been getting a lot of buzz from some great reviewers, and it’s on sale at the moment for $0.99 in all markets! How could you miss that deal?
Cheers
